4th Faculty Job Fair

The Careers and Alumni Office of Gdansk University of Technology, in cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, cordially invites students, doctoral students and graduates of Gdansk University of Technology to participate in the 4th Faculty Job Fair, which will be held on 13 May 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in the hall of the Main Building of Gdańsk Tech, on level 300.

This event has become a key part of the university’s calendar of initiatives supporting the professional development of aspiring engineers and architects. The fourth edition of the fair is an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest trends on the labour market and to engage directly with representatives of companies operating in the architecture and construction sectors.

Agreement between the Faculty of Architecture and City of Gdynia

Today, on 30th of April 2025, the Faculty of Architecture of Gdańsk University of Technology and the City of Gdynia signed an agreement. The document outlines the terms of collaboration regarding the publication of the printed series "Modernism in Europe – Modernism in Gdynia."

The cooperation between the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology and the City of Gdynia has been effective for years. One of the outcomes of this collaboration is the co-organization of the international conference "Modernism in Europe – Modernism in Gdynia," which will have its 10th anniversary on September 18–20 at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia.

Study Trip to Bytów

Study Trip to Bytów

Students from the 6th semester, working on the topic "Urban Bathing Area in Bytów" as part of the Elective Project III, participated in a study trip to Bytów. Our students were invited to Bytów by the city architect, Mr. Leszek Neubauer.

The visit began in the City Council Hall at the City Hall, where the students met with the city authorities. Afterwards, they conducted a site visit at Lake Jeleń, the location where they will conduct further studies and propose new architectural solutions for this site.

Course for Architects with participation of Our Students

On March 31, 2025, a group of 6th-semester students took part in a training session for architects organized by the eduArch team at the Collegia dormitory. The main theme of the training was universal design and the design of educational spaces. At the end of the session, participants had the opportunity to hear about the dormitory project from architect Joanna Wojtas, one of the co-designers of the building. The initiative for attending the training was taken by PhD. DSc. Eng. Arch. Piotr Marczak and PhD. DSc. Eng. Arch. Elżbieta Marczak.

Student from out Faculty awarded with Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education

Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for our students

Last year, we informed that three of our students qualified for the finals of the PRIX SARPFR 2024 competition (a contest for the best engineering theses organized by the Association of Polish Architects in France). Among them was Alicja Kaźmieczak's project "The Flower of Kalsa – a cultural center for the Kalsa district in Palermo." For her project, she received the First Prize from the Pomeranian Regional Chamber of Architects, a honourable mention from SARP, and a special mention in the aforementioned PRIX SARPFR 2024 competition.

With great sorrow, we inform about passing of Danuta Olędzka

Danuta Olędzka

Mrs. Danuta Olędzka was associated with TriCity for most of her life. In 1952, she obtained a Master's degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology. From 1952 to 1965, she worked as an assistant at the Department of Utility and Industrial Construction at our Faculty. The following year, she began working as a designer at the Gdańsk Office of General Construction Design, where she worked until 1982.

Prof. Maria Jolanta Sołtysik awarded with the Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski Medal

Prof. Maria Jolanta Sołtysik

Professor Maria Jolanta Sołtysik has received the Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski Medal "For Outstanding Contributions to Gdynia." An architect associated with the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology, she contributed to the promotion of Gdynia’s architecture and urban planning in Poland and Europe. She created the theoretical foundations for the protection of modernist heritage in Gdynia.
