We are delighted to announce that a graduate of our Faculty, Alicja Kaźmierczak, has won third place in the national competition for the best master’s diploma theses, “Wood in Architecture,” with her project titled “Arti-Gia-Nato. Architecture in the Face of the Disappearance of Place Identity. Local Identity and Craft Centre in the Papal Paper Mill in Grottaferrata.” The thesis was supervised by Dr Eng. Arch. Małgorzata Skrzypek-Łachińska. 

We are very pleased to announce that graduates of the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology have been distinguished in this year’s edition of the Mayor of the City of Gdynia Competition for the Best Diploma Thesis on the City – 2025 edition. The Competition Jury awarded distinctions to:

1. Ms Agnieszka Kowalik for the thesis entitled “The Gdynia Creativity Hub as an Element of Urban Development.”
   Supervisor: Prof. Lucyna Nyka, DSc, PhD, Eng., Arch.

Colourful paper, fragments of urban models, Christmas ornaments — and plenty of architectural imagination.

That’s how this year’s Eco-Tree at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology, came to life. Created in a zero-waste spirit, it is made entirely from materials used every day in design and studio work. The project is a faculty initiative and the result of a shared effort by students and staff.

Thanks to nearly three years of work, the Sectoral Council for Competences for the architecture and urban planning sector was established.

The Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy appointed the Faculty of Architecture’s staff - Paulina Duch-Żebrowska and Prof. Robert Idem - as members of the Sectoral Council for the 2025-2029 term. Paulina Duch-Żebrowska, as a facilitator of the Council, was key in its creation and in obtaining funding for its operation in the amount of 3.9 million PLN.

The work of researchers from the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology may determine whether the Modernist City Centre of Gdynia will be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

On Tuesday, 25 November 2025, we invite the entire academic community to join International Days – a series of events dedicated to Erasmus+ and other international opportunities available at our university. This year’s edition coincides with the Name Day of Erasmus of Rotterdam, the patron of the Erasmus+ programme.

The Department of Advanced Urbanism at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology, is conducting a Joint Design Studio this semester titled “Gdańsk Waterfront Productive City”, in collaboration with the Department of Urban Design, Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning (FURP), Cairo University.

Recently, the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology hosted Dr. Goran Ivo Marinović, architect and engineer, from the American University of Beirut (AUB) – one of the leading universities in the region, ranked 250th in the QS World University Rankings 2024.
