SARP Award for Members of Our Faculty! | The Faculty of Architecture at the Gdańsk University of Technology

We are proud to announce that two staff members from the Department of Urban and Regional Design — Dr. Eng. Arch. Monika Arczyńska and Dr. Eng. Arch. Łukasz Pancewicz — together with the A2P2 architecture&planning team (in collaboration with the Warsaw-based studio mamArchitekci), have received The Association of Polish Architects (SARP) Award for the best architectural projects completed in Poland in 2024.

In the category "Best Public Space", the award was granted for Plac Wolności (Freedom Square) in Łódź. The authors addressed a highly challenging design task, tackling both formal solutions and historical and functional relationships. The project is an outstanding example of space activation that simultaneously emphasizes the historical axis of the old part of the city. The balanced use of a “green square” combined with adjusted vehicular and pedestrian zones serves as a remarkable model for urban public space design in our cities.
