Architectural Education at PG (Gdańsk University of Technology)
Education in the field of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of Gdańsk University of Technology, aimed at obtaining an engineer architect diploma and a master's degree in architectural engineering, is implemented in accordance with the European Union requirements and in cooperation with UNESCO, UIA, EAAE, ISOCARP, and European schools of architecture.
The educational program aims to:
- Emphasize an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to the design process, including creative, aesthetic, technical, and humanistic factors.
- Create conditions for understanding cultural, social, and environmental values and conditions.
- Encourage reflection and redefinition of the relationship between tradition and innovation, knowledge and imagination.
- Offer an integrated approach to design issues, considering the requirements of contemporary architectural discourse.
- Cultivate sensitivity necessary for solving problems related to architectural, urban, and landscape transformation and revitalization processes.
- Motivate the creation of a sustainable environment.
In our educational process, it is important to:
- Develop creativity, imagination, and innovation, combined with critical reflection and the ability to meet strict requirements.
- Foster openness to drawing inspiration from vast areas of knowledge, including history, culture, aesthetics, art, architectural theories, technology, and sustainable design.
- Develop the ability to conceptualize, create projects, as well as understand and implement construction processes in architectural practice.
- Encourage a critical approach to the achievements of the past and inspire students to shape their own aesthetic views based on knowledge in the fields of culture, theory, and history of architecture.
