Architecture of recovery - a series of online workshops and lectures

Architecture of recovery poster

In the face of war, climate crises, displacement, and natural disasters, communities are too often left waiting for top-down solutions. But they don’t wait—they adapt and act.

This 3-day international online gathering reimagines recovery from the ground up. It focuses on grassroots urbanism, informal knowledge, and community participation as vital elements of post-crisis reconstruction and sustainable urban development.

The event builds on the award-winning project "Port Pop-Ups for Reviving Gaza", developed by our PhD student Bahaa Bou Kalfouni and his team during the UMAR Summer Workshop 2024. With the continued support of the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology, this initiative aims to extend the dialogue on community-led recovery and inspire action among young architects, planners, and researchers.

Join for a series of lectures from international speakers and interactive workshops with experienced professionals.

Free registration. All are welcome.
