The academic staff of the Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology, is the winners of many architectural competitions and authors of great prestigious projects. Among others it should be mentioned the building of the European Solidarity Center (Wojciech Targowski Ph.D. Eng. Arch. Assoc. Prof., Prof. Antoni Taraszkiewicz Ph.D. D.Sc. Eng. Arch., P. Mazur, Eng. Arch.) – an international competition first prize, or the recently opened building of the Museum of the Second World War (Jacek Droszcz Eng. Arch., Bazyli Domsta Ph.D. Eng. Arch. (other authors: arch. Kwieciński, arch. Kowalewski) – an international competition first prize.
There should be emphasized the involvement of the academic staff of the Faculty of Architecture in the protection and revalorization of historic buildings of the Gdańsk University of Technology (Prof. Jan Buczkowski, E. Ratajczyk-Piątkowska Ph.D. D.Sc. Eng. Arch. Assoc. Prof., Prof. Antoni Taraszkiewicz Ph.D. D.Sc. Eng. Arch., Wiesław Czabański Ph.D. Eng. Arch., Jarosław Bąkowski Ph.D. Eng. Arch.).
Since 2008, architects from the Faculty have been involved in the process of improving the quality of the university campus space within the framework of the activities undertaken by the team responsible for Spatial Development of the Gdańsk Tech campus headed by Prof. Lucyna Nyka Ph.D. D.Sc. Eng. Arch.
