Shelter - learning by doing

The world seems to be reeling from one crisis to another. Recently we experienced a global pandemic, economic uncertainty, wars, floods and earthquakes. Proceeding from the challenges facing humanity at the global level, especially after the recent events that threatened people's stability, safety, and existence without distinction between race, color, sex, and age. The notion of the seminar was initiated by questioning our role as architects and planners in responding to these challenges by preparing and training on emergency solutions
The idea of shelter-learning by doing is to think globally regarding the concept of shelter or a roof over a head which is one of the fundamental human rights and respond with creative doable design solutions. The assignment may take on different dimensions and scales, and participants will work in groups to design and build a physical model as a prototype that can be a solution for a particular area based on participants' interests and decisions.
