(Re)thinking Resilience PLEA 2024
PLEA is now launching the call for abstracts for the 37th PLEA Conference for Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design (25-28 June 2024 Wrocław) in the following research tracks:
- Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design – together for climate resilience
- Architecture for human resilience and well-being (including e.g., biophilic design, nature-based solutions, climate adaptation strategies for buildings and spaces)
- Analysis and methods for resilience and sustainability (e.g., new design and simulation tools, evaluation methods)
- Re-thinking resilience through renovations and adaptations of buildings and spaces (including cultural and natural heritage retrofitting, methods to improve performance of existing buildings and spaces)
- Building resilience with innovation and technology (e.g., innovative materials and sustainable technologies)
- Together we can – think, learn, teach and take the leadership (e.g., education and training, environmental activism)
In addition to the plenary and general sessions, the conference will also offer two Technical Sessions:
- Architectural education & urgency of climate action
- Bio-based materials and nature-based solutions
Organizers expect to receive abstracts until 30 July 2023. Please refer to the conference website where you will find the appropriate abstract template that suits your presentation.

- 30 Jul 2023 - Call for abstracts closes, Scientific Committee evaluates received abstracts

- 15 Jan 2024 - Students’ design competition closes
- 15 Feb 2024 - Regular registration opens
- 15 Apr 2024 - Regular registration closes;
- 30 May 2024 - Detailed PLEA 2024 Conference Program published
- 3-5 Jul 2024 - PLEA 2024 in Wrocław

PLEA Association is an organization engaged in a worldwide discourse on sustainable architecture and urban design through annual international conferences, workshops and publications. It has created a community of several thousand professionals, academics and students from over 40 countries. Participation in PLEA activities is open to all whose work deals with architecture and the built environment, who share our objectives and who attend PLEA events.

PLEA is an autonomous, non-profit association of individuals sharing the art, science, planning and design of the built environment.
PLEA pursues its objectives through international conferences and workshops; expert group meetings and consultancies; scientific and technical publications; and architectural competitions and exhibitions.
