Project Coordinator
dr inż. arch. Weronika Mazurkiewicz
The project coordinator is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology, where she works in the Department of Spatial Planning. Since November 2021, she has served as Chair of the Gdańsk branch of the Society of Polish Town Planners (TUP), where she initiates and organizes events such as "Film Meetings with the City" and promotes the urban planning profession as well as flexible, masterplan-based planning. Her research and teaching focus on the integration of GIS tools, masterplanning for the regeneration of urban marketplaces, and the analysis and development of communal living models. She has been a board member of the Society of Polish Town Planners and AESOP (Thematic Group for Public Spaces and Urban Cultures) since 2018. Since 2024, she has been actively involved with the "Inicjatywa Miasto" (City Initiative) Association and the Digital Architectural Lab at Gdańsk University of Technology. Additionally, since that same year, she has served as a District Councilor for Strzyża in Gdańsk. Beyond her work at Gdańsk University of Technology, she collaborates with the Institute of Urban Culture in Gdańsk and the Department of Architectural Design and Qualitative Research in Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology. She has completed research internships at institutions including the Royal Danish Academy, Seoul National University, the University of Ljubljana, the Vienna University of Technology, and the University of Lisbon. As an architect, she has worked in Karlsruhe, Germany (baurmann.dürr architekten), Warsaw (IN-VI), and Gdańsk (GRAPH 31, Primes Sp. z o.o.), among other locations.

She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology, where she conducts research and teaching in the fields of spatial planning and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She holds a PhD in Social Sciences (specializing in socio-economic geography and spatial management) from the University of Gdańsk; her dissertation focused on leveraging development potential within the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area. She is a lead planner at the Gdańsk Development Office (BRG), where she contributes to the preparation of municipal-level planning documents—including the general plan (as a co-coordinator) and local spatial development plans. Her work bridges academic knowledge and urban planning practice, focusing on integrating spatial analysis with public policy. She also serves as Vice-President of the Gdańsk Branch of the Society of Polish Town Planners and is a member of the municipal urban planning and architecture commission.
Specialization: advanced GIS analysis, including spatial database creation, geoprocessing, network analysis, 3D modeling, raster analysis, remote sensing, and space syntax analysis.
She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology, and serves as the Faculty’s Vice-Dean for Cooperation. She is also the Vice-President of the Association of Polish Architects (SARP, Coast Branch), a DAAD scholarship recipient, and has held positions as a visiting professor and researcher at several European institutions. She actively participates in European research programs. Her research interests encompass architectural theory, strategies for sustainable cultural and natural heritage, and urban revitalization, with a focus on interdisciplinary connections. She leads various national and international research projects, serves on the editorial boards of international academic series and journals, and has organized numerous international conferences dedicated to cultural heritage. She collaborates closely with municipalities and cultural and artistic institutions, conducting research and spearheading initiatives that promote diverse forms of participation, urban revitalization interventions, and cultural heritage preservation. She is the co-author of architectural guidebooks for Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Szczecin.
Specialization: architectural theory and urban renewal strategies, focusing on the interdisciplinary links between architecture and placemaking through art, participation, and resident-led activities, including those utilizing digital tools.
She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology (Department of Urban Transformation), and a member of the Council of the Pomeranian Regional Chamber of Architects (2026–2030 term), the Main Audit Commission of the Society of Polish Town Planners (2025–2028 term), CESAER (an association of over 50 universities of science and technology), and ISOCARP (International Society of City and Regional Planners). She is an expert in urban policy, public participation, adaptive housing structures, and cultural landscapes. She has authored academic publications on the Vistula Delta, the transformation of post-industrial sites, sustainable urban development, the use of GIS in urban planning, and climate challenges in spatial planning. She initiated the international workshop "Adaptive Housing Structures on Waterfronts in the Context of Climate Change" (2025, ENHANCE alliance). She founded the design studio ANNAGRAM (established in 2011), which delivers comprehensive architectural and construction projects. She is actively involved in strengthening the role of architect-planners in local government and in education aimed at building urban and rural resilience in the face of climate challenges.
Specialization: transformation of the Gdańsk coastal region and the conversion of natural landscapes into cultural ones. Experience in analyzing spatial transformations and utilizing planning tools to study cultural landscapes.
