DigiClimAct: Climate Action in South Baltic Cities Goes Digital
The DigiClimAct project aims to address the issue of insufficient innovation in climate change adaptation actions. DigiClimAct initiates a new network of creative interactions through the piloting of various digital applications (VR, immersive, and interactive apps) to communicate knowledge about climate change and impact scenarios. These immersive environments and engaging visualizations, aimed at bridging the gap between expert knowledge and stakeholders, are developed for diverse target users of different genders, ages, ethnic backgrounds, and income levels.
DigiClimAct also provides a cross-border digitization strategy as a broader approach to disseminating climate issues within civil society, in order to improve the acceptability of adaptation solutions and build social resilience. Finally, it delivers a digital handbook promoting a democratic perspective on climate action, offering citizens tools for oversight on how to increase accountability and transparency in the decision-making processes within their region.
