The development of the ECO_RET tool is the main objective of the project bearing the same title: ECO-RET: Ecological Retrofitting Tool for the Urbanisation of Existing Suburban Areas.
The tool enables the diagnosis of problems and the identification of solutions aimed at improving the quality of life of suburban residents while simultaneously reducing the environmental costs associated with the functioning of suburban areas.
As a result, the application of the ECO-RET tool supports the process of urbanising existing suburbs by identifying the characteristics that make districts more urban, as well as by analysing the ecological costs associated with these areas.
