The "Shelter - Learning by Doing" Project Continues to Flourish | The Faculty of Architecture at the Gdańsk University of Technology

The "Shelter - Learning by Doing" project, initiated last year, continues to thrive under the coordination of Bahaa Bou Kalfouni and Dr. Gabriela Rembarz at our Faculty of Architecture. The team, now including new participants, recently took part in the "International Workshop: Global Crises in the Third Decade of the 21st Century," hosted by Dr. Eng. Arch. Jerzy Łątka at the Faculty of Architecture, Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

Participants attended a series of lectures on contemporary crises and engaged in designing aid structures with contributions from Bahaa Bou Kalfouni, Jerzy Łątka, and Hubert Trammer. The workshop also included a seminar discussion led by Architect Zeev Baran. Students worked on critical issues related to refugees and migrants internationally, focusing on regions such as South Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. At the end of the workshop, they presented innovative architectural solutions and design strategies for addressing particular crises.

This collaborative academic activity between the two faculties was highly successful, providing students with valuable inspiration and new knowledge.
