Success of a Faculty of Architecture Graduate in the “Wood in Architecture” Competition

Winners of the “Wood in Architecture” competition – Alicja Kaźmierczak, Robert Machura, Zofia Konarowska

We are delighted to announce that a graduate of our Faculty, Alicja Kaźmierczak, has won third place in the national competition for the best master’s diploma theses, “Wood in Architecture,” with her project titled “Arti-Gia-Nato. Architecture in the Face of the Disappearance of Place Identity. Local Identity and Craft Centre in the Papal Paper Mill in Grottaferrata.” The thesis was supervised by Dr Eng. Arch. Małgorzata Skrzypek-Łachińska.

Master’s diploma theses by young architects from all over Poland were submitted to the competition. The task was to develop innovative architectural designs using traditional construction techniques and building materials that are environmentally friendly and allow for the creation of creative architectural forms. The jury appreciated the poetic, “minimalist” architectural narrative and the respect shown for the existing urban layout.

The results were announced on December 12 during a ceremonial gala held at the Faculty of Architecture of the Białystok University of Technology.

We warmly congratulate Alicja and wish her continued success!
