"Enterpreneurship nests in a Polish edge city" - Author dr hab. inż. arch. Justyna Martyniuk- Pęczek, Prof. PG; Olga Martyniuk, PhD; Tomasz Parteka, Prof. Tomasz Parteka, PhD
The publication is the result of a research grant of the National Science Center developed at the Faculty of Architecture of PG. "Production of entrepreneurial nests in the Tri-City Metropolitan Area. Analysis of spatial-economic relations of the SME sector development" carried out under the agreement no. 2013/09/B/HS4/01175
The book presents the results of in-depth research on the correlation of two parallel phenomena: suburbanization and the development of the SME (micro, small and medium-sized enterprises) sector in the Polish space during the post-1989 transformation period. The results of the research carried out in the urban area and the results of the CATI method show that suburbanization processes stimulate the development of settlement enclaves with a significant share of entrepreneurship in these areas - hereinafter referred to in the book as "entrepreneurship nests". They are characterised by a much higher share of SME sector units per capita than in central cities of metropolises. The authors of the book build a theoretical model based on the stimulants and destimulants of development, identifying economic, locational, administrative, labor market, transportation and other factors affecting the formation of "entrepreneurial nests".
