The course discusses the design of contemporary architectural structures in the context of their energy and acoustic efficiency and their relationship to the environment. The course covers physical phenomena in buildings, microclimate and comfort, acoustic and energy requirements, and energy certification of buildings.
High energy performance building design
This course provides a broad perspective on the design of energy efficient buildings. Current trends in the design of such buildings are presented as well as requirements and calculation methods for the building as a whole and for selected elements. The aim of the course is to prepare students for future design of architectural objects by showing the complexity and interdisciplinary nature of energy efficiency issues.
