The subject of the competition was the development of an urban and architectural concept for two residential tenement houses in Jeżyce, Poznań.
The aim of the competition was to obtain the best possible answer to the question: what should a model social housing development look like in the heart of Poznań’s historic urban district?
The competition jury, chaired by Karol Fiedor, M.Arch., in accordance with the competition regulations, awarded one main prize and three equal distinctions.

Jury Statement
The awarded project stands out for its original approach to the building form, expressed through a modern and simple massing that employs ecological materials both as structural and finishing elements. The designed tenement houses subtly complement the existing urban fabric, reinforcing its character, established divisions, and the compositional principles of neighbouring façades. At the same time, the two buildings remain in constant dialogue as integral elements of a coherent whole.
The authors carefully adjusted proportions and the dynamics of the form to the existing context while introducing original formal solutions, a consistent rhythm of window divisions, and ground-floor proportions referencing the scale of the historic frontage. This is combined with a contemporary articulation of glazing and an individualized roof geometry.
The proposal offers spacious, well-lit residential interiors, aesthetically consistent with the overall concept and allowing for flexible arrangements. The apartments were designed with high ergonomic standards, responding to contemporary lifestyles and ensuring optimal use of available space. The project also incorporates alternative scenarios aimed at strengthening local identity and neighbourhood ties. As a result, the common areas remain open to residents while becoming an integral part of their living environment.
The jury also emphasized the high quality of the project presentation, the strong attention to harmony and detail, and the overall consistency of the design boards.
