Summary – Summer School in Wiele | The Faculty of Architecture at the Gdańsk University of Technology

From September 24 to 26, the seventh edition of the Summer School organized by the Department of Environmental Design took place. This time we traveled to Wiele in the Kashubia region at the invitation of Sylva, a company specializing in the production of pine structural and façade elements as well as garden accessories. We visited Forest District in Bartel Mały, the Sylva sawmill and prototype hall, and learned about the challenges of building with CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) technology. In Leśno, where we were welcomed not only with delicious waffles :), we had the opportunity to see the results of the participatory project “Let’s Act Together” initiated by Sylva.

It was an intense and colorful experience. We came back with new knowledge, inspiration, and even… an invitation for next year! Recruitment for the next edition of our Summer School will begin in May 2026.
