Our Researcher Takes Part in the European Congress on Rural Renewal and Development

From 8th of May to 10th of May 2025, the European Congress on Rural Renewal and Development was held in Poznań—one of the key events under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Three days of debates, expert panels, meetings, and field visits were dedicated to addressing the challenges facing contemporary rural areas—from depopulation and economic transformation, through social conflicts, to the role of youth, the place of women in shaping the modern rural identity, local initiatives, and cultural heritage.
One of the event’s guests was PhD., DSc., Eng. Arch. Anna Górka, Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology, who took part in a panel discussion during the Polish Day, focusing on current challenges.
Not only infrastructure development and institutional foundations but also rising social awareness, education, and human aspirations—particularly in rural areas—will be key drivers of change in the countryside. This change will be positive, provided that rural communities are equipped with the right tools, knowledge, and motivation to act. Both formal and informal education play a crucial role in shaping a new approach to work, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and environmental protection. It is important that rural residents begin to recognize the opportunities offered by the modern economy, new technologies, and sustainable development.
