With great sorrow, we inform about passing of Danuta Olędzka

Danuta Olędzka

Mrs. Danuta Olędzka was associated with TriCity for most of her life. In 1952, she obtained a Master's degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology. From 1952 to 1965, she worked as an assistant at the Department of Utility and Industrial Construction at our Faculty. The following year, she began working as a designer at the Gdańsk Office of General Construction Design, where she worked until 1982.

The architect and urban planner, who lived in Sopot, along with her husband, was part of the group of designers who shaped post-war Tricity. In the late 1950s, she joined Tadeusz Różanski's team. Together with him and Janusz Morek, she participated in designing the development of the Przymorze Wielkie district in Gdańsk. Based on her concept, the first two "falowce" (wavy buildings) were built, including the famous Falowiec, the longest block of flats in Poland.

We express our sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones
