Inauguration of academic year at Faculty of Architecture | The Faculty of Architecture at the Gdańsk University of Technology

The inaugural speech was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Professor Jakub Szczepański, who presented the Faculty's activities and successes over the past few years. It was also an opportunity to outline the ambitious plans the Faculty will face in the nearest future. After the speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, we had the chance to listen the speech of the Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Professor Józef Sienkiewicz.

Before the oath of newly admitted students, the Faculty Authorities gave awards to Faculty staff and students. Special recognition went to Ms. Karolina Krużycka, M.Sc. in Architecture, who has received multiple awards for her Master’s thesis “The Space of Ecological and Social Activity as a Medium of Urban Identity. The Brine Graduation Tower in Kołobrzeg as a Phenomenon of Tradition in Contemporary Interpretation,” supervised by Dr. Agnieszka Błażko, Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology.

The ceremony concluded with a speech from the representative of the Faculty Student Council and an inaugural lecture by Dr. Piotr Samól, Professor at Gdańsk University od Technology.

After the inauguration, an exhibition “Leopold Taraszkiewicz: Twórczość Architektoniczna.” took place.
