Human Rights Commissioner Invites PG Architecture Faculty for Discussion
We are delighted to inform that our colleague, adjunct professor Dr. Karolina M. Zielińska-Dąbkowska, has been invited by the Polish Ombudsman to participate in the interdisciplinary seminar titled "The Dark Side of Light - About Light Pollution and Its Impact on Our Lives," held on February 29, 2024, in Warsaw.
The seminar was organized into four thematic panels: Astronomy, Fauna, Flora & Human Physiology, Medicine & Psychology, and Urban Planning, Architecture & Local Government. The event included discussions by environmentalists, medical and psychological experts, engineers, and public administration representatives on the effects of light pollution on human health and wildlife, and the influence of artificial lighting on urban and natural environments. The seminar also sought solutions for illuminating public spaces without contributing to light pollution.
You can watch the recorded session on YouTube through the organizer’s page and read a summary of the event at: Seminar Summary.
