With great sorrow, we inform about passing of Professor Pudlowski.

We inform you of the passing of Professor Zenon Jan Pudlowski on February 4, 2025. He was a great friend of the Faculty of Architecture at the Gdańsk University of Technology.
Professor Pudlowski was a graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology and a PhD from the Jagiellonian University. He worked in various scientific institutions, including: the Pedagogical University in Krakow, the Institute of Vocational Education in Warsaw, the Institute of Pedagogy at the Jagiellonian University, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sydney in Australia, the International Faculty of Engineering at the Łódź University of Technology (Dean), the Faculty of Engineering at Monash University in Australia (Deputy Dean), Aalborg University in Denmark, Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, USA, and most recently, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
In 1989, he founded the International Liaison Group for Engineering Education, where he served as secretary (1989–2006) and chairman (2006–2008). From 1992 to 2009, he was a member and director of the International Committee for Engineering Education at UNESCO in Melbourne, Australia, and later founded and directed the World Institute of Engineering and Technology Education (WIETE), also in Melbourne. His work aimed at improving the quality of engineering education and organizing research on this subject took place worldwide.
He was the editor-in-chief of the Global Journal of Engineering Education and World Transactions on Engineering and Technology Education and served on editorial boards for International Journal of Electrical Engineering Education, European Journal of Engineering Education, International Journal of Engineering Education, International Journal of Technology and Engineering Education, Botswana Journal of Technology, and Australasian Journal of Engineering Education.
He received honorary doctorates from Donetsk National Technical University in Donetsk, Ukraine (1996), Glasgow Caledonian University in Glasgow (1998), Kingston University in London (2008), and Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (2024).
In 2024, Professor Zenon Jan Pudlowski became the first person in the history of our university to be awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Gdańsk University of Technology by the University Senate.
